I did take the sniff test. Trying to wring the kitsch out of my system artistically, I was creating a collage with the theme “a life so stable so empty of hope.” Writing the words, I accidentally dropped the “b” and it read “a life so stale.” A truth revealed.
There’s something more to life, don’t you think? The magnet on my refrigerator urges me to “dwell in possibilities.” But I know that possibilities rarely come your way if you’re not out there in the world mixing it up. My new mantra: invigorate instead of stagnate. Time to kick it up a notch.
Personal stuff:
Happily, passionately married.
Grown children.
Small grandchildren.
Living the city life.
My frig magnets say:
Friends are the best therapy
I’m so old my clothes are back in style (hippie attire)
Think goals

Bermuda – Beth Ahhhhh
Joe’s Crab Shack
A lot of the same old same old here, so pretty stale.
Lia, I just found your blog. How about a link exchange?
Rita
Sounds great. I’ll add your link today. Goldivas looks interesting and I’ll take some time to read more carefully. Thanks for the request.
kick it up a notch on your birthday, aunt lia!

My magnet says:
I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have be more specific…
You go LIA!
Signed,
The Queen!
Hi Lia,
Thanks for your comment and visit to my blog… I’ll let you know how the blonde hair works out!
Hi, Lia. Good use of Mamet, isn’t it. The main character in the novel, Anne Rosenbaum, who leads a book club of Hollywood’s power people, does a club on Mamet, and the joke actually is the culmination of the scene with the club. Take a look. If you liked that, you’ll love Anne’s knock-knock joke about grammar, which also uses f*ck….
best,
Chandler
Thanks Chandler. I’m looking forward to reading the book!
